KUO Social Restaurant is New Jersey’s hottest new restaurant & lounge. The sensibility and sensuality in both interior design and the menu captures the zeitgeist of 1920s Shanghai glamour; complemented with delectable Modern Chinese fare similar to that of Tao and Nobu. KUO Social is a culmination of Chef/Owner Steven Kuo’s international expertise in the restaurant & hospitality arena over the past 35 years, along with Executive Chef/Partner, Yang Huang, previously the Executive Chef of Buddakan, NY and a Starr Restaurant alum of 18 years. Chef Kuo and Chef Yang have teamed up with the fabulous Rafael Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez's critically acclaimed design genius includes Chef Kuo's family restaurant Peking Pavilion owned by Michael and Corrina Kuo. Rafael was also responsible for the design of Per Se rated "the BEST restaurant in the world", Le Cirque, The Borgata Hotel, Jade on 36, and many more extraordinary establishments. The menu
features fanciful interpretations of Modern Chinese dishes in addition to a spectacular cocktail menu.

Meet The Team
Chef Kuo is the Chef/Owner and the driving force behind KUO Social Restaurant. He attended the Pennsylvania State University’s prestigious Hotel, Restaurant Management Program. He has taught at the Culinary Institute of America and holds a Master’s from New York University. By the age of 25, Steven worked with the likes of Bobby Flay, David Bouley, the Waldorf Astoria, Eleven Madison Park and brought a myriad of sumptuous specials to Buddakan, Nobu, the Four Seasons Hotel, NYC as well as the Shangri-La Hotels in China. Chef Kuo’s vision for KUO Social is a culmination of a dramatic backdrop and lighting complemented with exquisite Modern Chinese cuisine.
